This steel string guitar corresponds to our standard model Ambition, back and sides however are of Indian Walnut (Juglans Nigra). Regarding all other parameters it is built just as three other Ambition models with back and sides of Indian Rosewood, Indian Silver Oak and Spalted Mango. They were built this way for sound comparison reasons.
Indian Walnut is a very nice, evenly grained wood with a medium brown shade. The structure of Indian Walnut reminds of Mahogany, but it is much harder. We have already used it in our test series of classical guitars.
This steel string guitar produces a present, lively sound with a very quick response and considerable volume. It shines with good selectivity over the entire fingerboard. The bass is strong and clear, without covering up the silvery highs.
