Evidence Purple Heart – Steel String with Fanned Frets – NO Rosewood

Our top seller Evidence with Purple Heart back and sides is really something special. We love this color and the tone too! Because sound-wise it is quite similar to Rosewood, but with a touch more assertiveness and a tad more treble.

Description

We developed Evidence Mini Jumbo in 2020 and introduced it for the first time with Rosewood and Purple Heart back and sides.

Evidence combines the tonal advantages of the Ambition series with some of the outstanding features of the IQ, namely the Fanned Frets, a cutaway and the sleek design. What makes it unique are the large Thorn inlays that prevent getting lost on the fretboard.

The precise tone generation achieved by the fanned frets, combined with the rounded tone of the Ambition, make Evidence an all-rounder. If you want to know more about our ideas behind Evidence, it's best to check our product portfolio.

Woods and Sound

Purple Heart is also known as Violet Wood or Amaranth and is originally native to Central and South America. The name says it all. The purple hue is incredibly intense and already easy to recognise in the raw wood. The wood is very hard, brittle and dense and therefore can only be processed with great care. This goes as far as subjecting the tools to greater wear and tear than, for example, Rosewood. But the effort is worth it.

In terms of sound, Purple Heart is similar to Indian Rosewood, but due to a somewhat greater density, it is a bit more powerful in the treble. While Rosewood strongly  highlights the low-mid range, Amaranth rather emphasizes the high-mids. It is close to Makassar Ebony. Record nerds might say that Purple Heart is the hi-fi version of Indian Rosewood.
