Premium Quality Ukulele for Serious Players
Unique soloist ukulele with high assertiveness. The fast response and a very wide frequency range allow not only the use in orchestra or band, but also as a solo instrument. The player enjoys high playing comfort thanks to 38 mm nut width and extended fingerboard.
Wood / Features / Sound
For this tenor ukulele, we chose two very different woods for the body. One is mango, which is visually impressive even without the addition of fungus, and the other is maple, a classic from Canada that we also like to use for our acoustic basses. The sonic result with maple, therefore, is also an emphasis on the low-mid range and beautifully brilliant highs, while mango, rather airy light, impresses with incredibly fast response . The dynamics of tone development allows for a myriad of uses with both woods. In addition to traditional use, it is particularly suitable for modern playing styles such as fingerstyle or even tapping. As a solo instrument, however, it shows best what it is capable of. It always shines with clear trebles and defined basses.
This model is equipped with Worth CT carbon strings. They are highly prized by ukulele players, as they enhance the tone while adding a Hawaiian touch to the sound.
Handling/Playability
Tamino features a scale length of 430 mm, so there you have quite something in your hands. For a pleasant playing comfort, the nut width of 38 mm is designed slightly larger than on conventional ukuleles. Due to the extended fingerboard, even the upper registers are playable, so that even most ambitious players get their money's worth.
