What at first glance looks like the normal STOLL Classic Bass, is in fact a very savvy small Acoustic Bass with steel strings. Our client considered the Legendary Acoustic Bass too large, but was take by the shape of the Classic Bass. Quickly, we decided to make a hybridation and developed this bass.
The scale length is the classic "short scale" with a length of 762 mm, a bit longer than the scale length of the Classic Bass. The string gauge is .024 "to .056", it is tuned one octave higher than a normal bass, thus similar to the four upper strings of a normal guitar. The longer scale length results in a sonorous, concise and extremely assertive sound.
Piccolo is a crisp acoustic solo bass. Due to the higher tuning, it is even louder than the Legendary Acoustic Bass.
