Es gibt aLaska Pick Fingerpicks in 4 (Kunststoff) bzw. 3 (Messing) verschiedenen Größen. Um die richtige Größe zu ermitteln, legen Sie Ihre Finger flach auf ein Papier und zeichnen den Umriss nach. Messen Sie mit einem Lineal die Breite. Wir empfehlen bei einer Breite von:

  • kleiner oder gleich 16mm - S (bzw. M bei Messing)
  • kleiner oder gleich 18mm - M
  • kleiner oder gleich 20mm - L
  •             größer als 20mm - XL

The picks are available in 4 (plastic) and 3 (brass) different sizes respectively. To determine the correct size put your hand flat on a paper and draw the outline. Measure the width of each finger with a ruler. We recommend at a width of:

  • less than or equal to 16mm - S (only available in plastic, use M in brass)
  • less than or equal to 18mm - M
  • less than or equal to 20mm - L
  •               larger than 20mm - XL

Kunststoff-Picks:Plastic Picks

  • Zunächst muss die Sitzfestigkeit des Picks optimiert werden. Dies erreicht man, indem man durch Feilen an der Innenseite der Zupffläche das Pick exakt an die Fingerform des Benutzers anpaßt (siehe #1).
  • Führen Sie die Feile dazu wie abgebildet (#2), um das Fremdkörpergefühl unter dem Nagel so gering wie möglich zu halten.

  • First the tight fit of the pick must be optimized.
  • This can be achieved through filing down the pick at the inside of the picking surface to custom fit it accurately to the shape of the finger (see #1).
  • Lead the file as shown (see #2), to avoid the foreign body sensation under the nail as much as possible.

  • Nun wird das Pick zur Maniküre fest über den Finger und unter den Nagel gesteckt. Zu diesem Zweck sollten auch die Ränder der Fingernägel, besonders die äußeren Ecken, rundgefeilt werden.
  • So vorbereitet, kann das Pick dann mit Nagelknipser und Feile auf die gewünschte Länge gekürzt werden.
  • Um das Pick flexibler zu machen, kann man das Druckband ganz oder teilweise entfernen (siehe #3).
  • Wenn das Pick beim Abknicken des Finger unter dem Nagel hervorrutscht, wird es an der Unterseite großzügig angeschrägt (#4).
  • Feilen Sie alle scharfen Kanten rund.
  • aLaska PikTM  können auch für seitliches Picking mit dem Daumen benutzt werden, wenn man die mit #5 markierten Stelle einkerbt, so dass das Pick die Form eines Fingernagels erhält.

  • For the manicure the pick now is put firmly over the finger and under the nail. For this purpose also the edges of the fingernails, particularly the outside corners, should be filed smooth.
  • Thus prepared, the pick can be shortened with a nailclipper and filed to the desired length.
  • In order to make the pick more flexible, one can remove the pressure band totally or partly. (see #3).
  • If the pick slips out from under the nail while bending the finger it can be generously chamfered at the bottom (#4).
  • All sharp edges should be filed smooth.
  • aLaska PikTM  can also be used for lateral picking with the thumb, if one nicks the place marked with #5, so that the pick achieves the form of a fingernail.

Messing-Picks:Brass Picks Es gelten die gleichen Grundsätze wie für die Kunststoff-Picks. Die optimale Form wird hier durch Biegen und Feilen erzielt. The same principles as to the plastic picks apply. Bending and filing obtain the optimal fit here.
